Techlined ("we", "us", "our") operates attendance management products including Techlined Attendance, and is developing Fingerprint Attendance and RFID Attendance systems. 2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Institution Data: College/university name, roll number, registration number, employee ID, designation, department, qualification
• Contact Information: Messages submitted via our contact form
• Academic Data: Attendance records, enrolled courses, timetable information, session participation

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: GPS coordinates when marking attendance with geofencing enabled (only during active session marking)
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, browser type, user agent string
• Usage Data: Login timestamps, session activity, API request logs
• QR Code Interactions: QR code scan events tied to attendance sessions

2.3 Biometric Data (Future Products)

Our upcoming Fingerprint Attendance System will collect fingerprint templates for identity verification. These templates are stored in encrypted format and are not used for any purpose beyond attendance verification. RFID systems will collect card identifiers only — no biometric data is involved.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate users and provide access to the platform
• Record and manage attendance sessions accurately
• Verify student identity and prevent proxy attendance via geofencing and QR verification
• Generate attendance reports and analytics for institutions
• Send important system notifications (session alerts, account activity)
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
• Improve our products through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose not listed above.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

4.1 With Your Institution

Attendance records, profile information, and academic data are accessible to authorized staff of your enrolled institution (professors, administrators). This is the core functionality of the platform.

4.2 Service Providers

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, Firebase for push notifications). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for other purposes.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Techlined, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on our platform before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

• Encryption: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
• Authentication: JWT-based tokens with expiration, token rotation on refresh, and session revocation on logout.
• Access Control: Role-based permissions ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates are used only at the moment of attendance marking and are not stored long-term.
• Database Security: Database access is restricted to application servers. Direct external access is blocked.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:

• Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deactivated accounts retain data for 2 years for institutional compliance, then anonymized.
• Attendance Records: Retained for the duration of your academic enrollment plus 5 years.
• Session Tokens: Access tokens expire per configuration. Refresh tokens are revoked upon logout.
• Contact Form Data: Messages retained for 1 year for support purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Account Deactivation: Deactivate your account at any time through the app's account settings

• Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

Our services are designed for use by students enrolled in colleges and universities, typically aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
